I use a service called Huffduffer to create a personalized podcast effortlessly.

Through Huffduffer, I can add episodes of podcasts that are either new or popular through the service. Or I can copy and paste a link to an audio file, and it will be added to my podcast feed. But for me, where Huffduffer shines is the ability to listen to audio from YouTube.

Some kind soul has built a service called huffduff-video that will convert the audio from YouTube to sound files, which are then added to your Huffduffer podcast feed. Copy and paste the URL of the YouTube video into the huffduff-video URL field, click the Go button, wait a few seconds to a few minutes, and presto, you can listen to YouTube videos as a podcast.

Huffduffer and huffduff-video allow me to listen to concerts, rare albums, audiobooks, interviews, lectures, etc. If that’s the thing that interested you, you owe it to yourself to spend the five or see minutes to set up accounts with those two fine services and roll your own podcast.

Every morning I listen to two albums. Today I listened to Punchline, a custom Killing Joke album I made for a friend five years ago. Kind of a best of album. I also listened to Brian Eno and Harold Budd’s The Pearl. 🎵

Listening to Andrew Tasselmyer’s mix for this weekend’s Soundwave. It’s really enhancing my morning.

Sweet ride.

I just spent the last five minutes imagining an industrial metal band called Megastructure that is a synthesis of Godflesh’s Streetcleaner LP, Pitchshifter’s Industrial LP, Treponem Pal’s Aggravation LP, and Pailhead’s Trait LP.

I grew up with TOS, TNG, & DS9. It wasn’t until STVOY I encountered a Trek that wasn’t for me. But it was Trek for a lot of people. Enterprise & STD wasn’t for me, either. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds doesn’t have to be for me. I’m just glad Star Trek continues to exist.

Watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I didn’t hate it. But I’m Trek’s target demo. It’s hard for me to hate Trek. But I didn’t move it, either. I was entertained enough and will, of course, what more episodes to see if it grows on me.

My RSS Reader is a mess. Time for a reorg. What categories have you broken up your RSS Reader into?

I would drink Coke Zero Starlight.

I don’t know how far I’m going to get, but I’m jotting down notes that borrow from Bruce Sterling’s Shaper/Mechanist stories, Greg Egan’s Diaspora novel, and elements from Iain M. Banks’s Culture novels. Leaning towards Traveller or FATE to run the game.

Moon Knight is the only Marvel television series where I watch each episode twice. I’m not even a Moon Knight fan, it’s that good. And it’s brilliant that Marc Spector to a supporting character. I think it would be boring if super competent Spector was always Moon Knight.

Months ago, someone of MB despaired at all the articles they’d saved to Pocket but would never read. I knew exactly what they were talking about. I ruthlessly deleted all articles I knew aid never read and slowly read what remained. As of today, I read my last saved article.
