I just used FATE Accelerated to run a one-shot game based on a heist scenario I heard on Full Metal RPG for today’s creative exercise. We used Microsoft Teams and an online dice roller. Fun!

The unending torrent of music from streaming services devalues music. I’ve reverted to listening habits from last century: I purchase an album each paycheck. I listen to the album every day until next paycheck. Today I bought SWANS album, White Light from the Mouth of Infinity.

There’s a flock of turkeys who congregate a half mile from where I’m staying. This week they’ve made their way to my neighborhood and I enjoy their company on my morning walk for coffee.

For years I only had two screens on my iPhone. Thanks to widgets, it’s explored to four screens. I’d really like to get back to two screens again but I really like my widgets.

Bruce Sterling’s Shaper/Mechanist Stories as an RPG Setting

After many decades and many re-reads, I still marvel at Bruce Sterling’s Shaper/Mechanist stories. They hold up. I’m still discovering new things in them. It’s an excellent setting for an RPG. Ben Iglauer has got the ball rolling. He suggests GURPS but I’d use Classic Traveller.
