After getting my second dose of Moderna I prepared for the worst: fever, chills, body aches, etc. I suffered none of that. My shoulder where I got the shot is a little sore and I pretty much slept the entire day. We’ll see what day two brings.
I just got my second dose of Moderna. Hopefully there will be no ill effects. But even if there is, it beats the alternative.

Today my TextExpander app stopped working. I was anxious without it and rely on it. I’ve keyboard commands that are muscle memory. It’s constantly working behind the scenes fixing my most common typos, adding date stamps, autofilling email addresses, etc. Glad it’s working again.

The Expanse feels cyberpunk. Like it picks up where William Gibson’s Neuromancer left off. Now if only a streaming service adapted Bruce Sterling’s Shaper/Mechanist short stories into a tv series.
I’m grateful that there are so many RSS apps out there since most people get there or news and entertainement from Facebook and Twitter. I’ve tried a fair number of them but I’ve stayed with Feedly. It displays the perfect blend of photos and information.
Today has been fantastic! My Spotify Discover Weekly plays list was kicking out the perfect morning jams. I ran an errand driving in the rain. I love driving in the rain because it’s such a rare experience in San Diego. And I’ve been brewing cup after cup of fantastic coffee.
Moorcock’s Elric IP was optioned as a tv series but stalled due to the success of The Witcher. Shame, I was hoping to see Eddie Redmayne as Elric. As an alternative, I’d love to see a series based on Corum, the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. It’s got real Game of Thrones appeal.
There’s so much crazy stuff being produced for tv these days (I’m thinking of Grant Morrison’s Happy, for example) that I’m making my pitch to Hollywood: the short stories of Thomas Ligotti animated by the Brothers Quay. No-brainer.
I’ve been hand grinding my coffee beans for the last eight years. This week I purchased an electric conical burr grinder and what once took five minutes now takes 30 seconds. Why did I wait so long?

I’m still on the fence about Lower Decks but I can say unequivocally that I don’t hate it. I’m enjoying Picard but there’s more vaping and cigars in Star Trek than I remember.

Last night I purchased Keith Levene’s Violent Opposition CD on eBay. It’s a fine album, but the main reason I got the CD is because of his cover of Jimi Hendrix’s cover of “If 6 Was 9”. Flea on bass, Hillel Slovak on guitar, Jack Irons on drums, and Norwood Fishbone on vocals. Essentially I spent $15 on one song. Worth it.
