3 Mind Blowing YA Novels
Last month I sent my best friend Ursula K. Le Guin’s A Wizard of Earthsea. I love that book and thought he’d love it, too. But these things are always a gamble. I’m happy to report he enjoyed the book, and it sparked a great conversation. He’s got Dune next in his stack of books to read, but I just sent him Ender’s Game. It would be a great excuse to re-read that book and talk to him about it.
Interestingly, all three of these books qualify as YA. The difference is that these books feature a protagonist who is a young adult while the books are just complex and profound as the best literature. YA as a genre, however, are books marketed to young adults with young adults as the protagonists but nowhere as rich and dense as the novels I mentioned.
I envy my friend. I wish I could read these books again for the first time.

This is the year I try my hand at creating a webcomic miniseries. I have solid plots for stories and plenty of illustrators I can connect with on Instagram.
I notified Ulysses of the issue I’m having of not being able to open sheets created on my iPhone or iPad on my desktop. If the issue cannot be revoked I am going to start using IA Writer. The idea of writing to text file rather than Ulysses’s proprietary format is appealing.
I have a tradition of buying a bottle of Akva Vit every winter and enjoying a small glass every night. Sometimes I have some black bread with butter and some caviar, but most of the time it’s just the Akva Vit.

My Leatherman is being used for unexpected problems. The other day our cheap wine opener snapped off in the cork, and I used my Leatherman to yank it out of the bottle. This morning I used my Leatherman to unscrew the cap to my box of oat milk. You know, manly stuff.
