Mike Davis’s City of Quartz taught me to see cities in a new light. Davis showed the things cities hide, like prisons that look like an innocuous high-rise. Davis demonstrated the uses of tactical design, such as park benches that the homeless are unable to sleep on.

I am thrilled that William Gibson’s The Peripheal is a tv series. I’m puzzled that Bezo’s didn’t acquire and produce Neuromancer, but I’ll let that slide. My fingers are crossed that Amazon will adapt Gibson’s Bigend Trilogy.
I’ve gotten over my embarrassment of going out in public with a sling bag, AKA the tactical purse. Now that I appreciate their practicality, I covet the slings bags other people sport. So much room! My bag barely holds my essentials.
