Finished reading: Samurai Women 1184–1877 by Stephen Turnbull 📚 I’ve been working on a webcomic for the last few months, and the research required for the project is more significant than I anticipated. It does mean, however, that I got to learn about the samurai women of Japan. The next book I read by Turnbull will be about the Mongolian Invasion of Japan.

Cranberry Peril
Massachusetts’ Cranberry Harvest Is in Peril Due to Northeast Drought 💬 Cranberry bogs are part of my youth. All through the year I’d walk past them on my way to visit my friends. In the winter they’d flood the bogs and we’d skate when they had frozen over. Whenever I’m' homesick, I drink cranberry juice. I never thought I’d have an emotional reaction to a headline about cranberries.
