I set up a vault in Obsidian in preparation for our upcoming Mothership game. It delights me to no end to see connections being created in the graph view for things like the anthropic principle, cosmic horror, Faust, The Great Filter, The Last Messiah, etc.
My Discover Weekly playlist is quite charming this week. But it absolutely does not reflect having the Prometheus and Alien: Covenant soundtracks on constant rotation.
My homework for the next few weeks is to watch movies set in the Kamakura period. Please feel free to share suggestions.
I’m currently writing scripts for one-page comics with a maximum of 10 panels. Darwyn Cooke’s three-panel grid has me seeing those constraints with fresh eyes.
I purchased Hazel and set up all the rules I’ve been devising the last few weeks. That accomplished, I’m stepping back and looking at my folder system with fresh eyes and what I might due with further automation.
Every morning I listen to two albums. Today I listened to Back to the Woodlands by Ernest Hood and Music Within by Interwoven. 🎵
Tonight was the first time I’ve seen a police officer use a shotgun to apprehend someone.
It’s that time of day where someone drives around in their car through my neighborhood shouting “911 was an inside job by the CIA!” through a megaphone.
I watched Alien: Covenant last night in preparation for January’s Mothership game. I wasn’t a fan of the movie when it was initially released, but I now think it’s excellent!
Every morning I listen to two albums. Today I listened to Eurythmia by Eve Risser Red Desert Orchestra and the UNIVERSAL CODE by Muriel Grossmann. 🎵
In preparation for running Mothership I have been watching cosmic and survival horror science fiction movies like Event Horizon, Aliens, and Prometheus. I’m happy to run whatever game the players want, but if I had my druthers, I’d like to run a game that explores artificial life and cosmic horror.
