This Sunday we’ll begin our first session of Warhammer’s Dark Heresy. I play Fyodor Grigorovich, the majordomo of our Inquisitor. I’m basically Alfred, Batman’s butler. Fyodor is more mentor than leader. His mission is to unlock his team’s potential. Fyodor Grigorovich is the Warhammer version of Ted Lasso.

Below is Fyodor Grigorovich’s Hierarchy of Victory, based on John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success.

The foundation of the Hierarchy of Victory is “Industriousness,” emphasizing the importance of hard work and diligence in achieving success. The second level is “Zeal,” reflecting the fervent devotion to one’s cause that is often a hallmark of Warhammer’s warriors.

The third level is “Comradeship,” emphasizing the bonds of loyalty and trust that develop among comrades in arms. Above that is “Self-Control,” reflecting the discipline and focus required to succeed in the harsh and unforgiving universe of Warhammer.

The next level is “Awareness,” emphasizing the importance of situational awareness and adaptability in the face of changing battlefield conditions. Above that is “Initiative,” highlighting the need for decisive action and leadership in the midst of battle.

The penultimate level is “Expertise,” emphasizing the mastery of specialized skills and knowledge required to excel in one’s role within the larger hierarchy. Finally, at the pinnacle of the Hierarchy of Victory is “Triumph,” reflecting the ultimate goal of victory in battle and the attainment of one’s objectives.

Season two of Rings of Power? I’m their target demo, but there’s no way I’m going to watch this serialized snooze fest.

Looks like we might make it through the day without a mass shooting. 🤞

It’s mind-blowing that I am held to a higher order of ethics than the Supreme Court Justices.

We wrapped up our Mothership game in April. This month we’re going to play in the grimdark universe of Warhammer’s Dark Heresy.

I’m going to watch Silo tonight. I’m dubious because all the characters look far too clean and healthy. And their clothes look new. Those of you who have read the books will understand.

I’ve settled on the word “cozy” to describe Micro.Blog. There’s no algorithm to hustle me. Folks post missives on pens and typewriters, share photos of warmth and whimsy. I follow people on Micro.Blog after careful consideration. I‘ve no idea who and how many people follow me, and neither do I care.

It tickles me to no end that introduced one of my oldest friends to RPGs through one of the most unlikely games: Xas Irkalla, a survival horror RPG. From there, we moved on to Mothership, a sci-fi game which ended in paranoia, betrayal and death. And now we’re going to play Warhammer: Dark Heresy.

Unfortunately, my much-anticipated IG interview with Soundwave’s guest deejay Simon Grab fell through. There’s still hope for a future chat, but I did convey what I admire about his music - the artist’s personality shines through his minimal techno style, a rarity in the genre.
